The Aventador was the last Lamborghini flagship built around a naturally aspirated V12 alone. The Revuelto that replaced it is a plug-in hybrid, which makes the SVJ the closing chapter of a line that began in 2012.

SVJ stands for Super Veloce Jota, a badge Lamborghini reserves for its highest-performing cars, and the Aventador wears it as the most track-focused version of the range. The name Aventador itself comes from a Spanish fighting bull that fought in 1993.

The engine is a 6.5-liter V12 that revs to 8,500 rpm, making 770 horsepower and 720 Nm. Drive reaches all four wheels through a seven-speed Independent Shifting Rods gearbox, with rear-wheel steering assisting the chassis. 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.9 seconds, 200 km/h arrives 8.8 seconds from rest, and the car will reach 350 km/h.

The SVJ also introduced ALA 2.0, Lamborghini's active aerodynamics: flaps that reposition in 500 milliseconds to add downforce or reduce drag as conditions change. The Roadster carries only 50 kilograms more than the coupe, because its carbon fiber roof panels lift off by hand and store under the front hood.

This car is finished in matte gold, with gloss carbon fiber throughout and carbon-ceramic brakes behind red calipers. The cabin follows Lamborghini's Y-shape design language in black and red Alcantara with carbon trim.
