From M3 coupé to M4

BMW split the naming in 2014 — saloons kept M3, coupés became M4 — but the car is the same lineage that started with a homologation special in 1986. The current generation uses a twin-turbo straight-six that responds to tuning in a way the older naturally aspirated engines never did.

In Thailand the M4 sits in an unusual spot: quick enough to interest people cross-shopping supercars, priced where a well-specified German saloon lands. The CSL is the outlier — a genuine limited edition whose value has moved independently of the rest of the range.

BMW M4 in Thailand — common questions

How much does a used BMW M4 cost in Thailand?

Live asking prices for the cars we have are in the table above. Import duty and taxes put Thai prices well above home-market figures, and the limited versions further again.

CSL, CS or Competition?

The CSL is a 1,000-car limited edition and is bought as a collector car. The CS gets most of the hardware and is far easier to find. The Competition is the one to buy if you intend to use it daily.

Is the M4 CSL a good investment?

Limited production and a clear place in M history have supported values so far. We would not buy any car purely as an investment, but the CSL has held up better than most.

xDrive or rear-wheel drive?

xDrive is quicker off the line and far more usable in the wet, which matters here. Rear-wheel-drive cars are lighter and preferred by a certain kind of buyer, and that is now reflected in the used market.

Where can I see the cars?

At our showroom at 1290 Rama III Road, Bangkok — open Mon–Sat 9:00–18:00, Sun 10:00–17:00. Every car on this page is on the floor, not in a catalogue.
