The GTS sits above the Targa 4S by 30 horsepower and 10 mm of ride height, and it is the top of the Targa range.

The engine is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six at 480 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 570 Nm from 2,300 to 5,000 rpm, through an eight-speed PDK to all four wheels. 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.5 seconds, 200 km/h takes 12.5 seconds, and top speed is 307 km/h.

The roof mechanism is the reason the body exists. The rear glass lifts and swings back, the fabric section folds behind the rear seats, and the glass returns, all of it in 19 seconds and all of it visible from outside while it happens.

What GTS adds beyond the engine is the SportDesign front end, black finishes in place of the chrome around the glass and on the tailpipes, GTS lettering on the doors, a sports exhaust and PASM Sport suspension sitting 10 mm lower than standard.

This car is finished in Ruby Star Neo, a color ordered through Paint to Sample rather than chosen from the standard chart.
