Toyota built 500 GRMN Yaris worldwide. It is the hardest version of a car that was already unusual — a homologation hatchback built by a division that races.

The 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder is tuned to 268 horsepower and 390 Nm, up from the standard car's 370 Nm, with closer gear ratios to keep it in its range. Mechanical limited-slip differentials are fitted at both axles.

The rear seats are gone, replaced by a structural roll bar that adds torsional rigidity. With the carbon fiber hood and lightweight Recaro bucket seats, the car is 20 kg lighter than a standard GR Yaris.

The rest is hardware: 18-inch BBS forged wheels, larger brake discs, Bilstein dampers, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, extended side skirts and a reshaped front diffuser.
