The rear wing of the 992 GT3 RS has a drag reduction system, which no Porsche road car had before this one. The upper element lies flat on a straight to shed drag and returns the moment the driver brakes.

It works because everything else feeds it. The hood carries L-shaped vents fed from the front bumper, both arches are louvered, fins stand along the roof, and a single large central radiator taken from the racing car replaces the GT3's three, freeing the flanks for airflow. Porsche measures 409 kg of downforce at 200 km/h, twice the previous RS and three times a GT3, rising to 860 kg at 285 km/h.

The engine is the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, raised from the GT3's 510 horsepower to 525 at 8,500 rpm with 465 Nm, through a seven-speed PDK. 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.2 seconds. Top speed is 296 km/h, lower than the GT3's 318 km/h, because the gearing and the wing are set up for corners rather than for a straight.

The wheels are center-lock, 20-inch front and 21-inch rear, on Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R widened from 255 to 275 mm at the front and 315 to 335 mm at the rear, over carbon-ceramic brakes. The doors are CFRP, and inside are carbon bucket seats, a roll cage and a steering wheel the driver can configure.

The Weissach package adds a carbon fiber hood, roof and roll cage along with CFRP anti-roll bars. This car has it, finished in Arctic Grey on magnesium wheels in Indigo Blue, with full bucket seats. It is at the Target Car Center – Imported Cars showroom.
