STO stands for Super Trofeo Omologata: a road-legal version of Lamborghini's one-make race car, developed by Squadra Corse, the factory racing division.

The 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 makes 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 565 Nm at 6,500 rpm — slightly less torque than the Huracán EVO's 600 Nm — and drives the rear wheels only, through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. What matters more is the weight. At 1,339 kg dry, 43 kg below the Performante, the ratio comes to 2.09 kg per horsepower: 3 seconds to 100 km/h, 9 seconds to 200 km/h, and a top speed of 310 km/h.

The body is 75 percent carbon fiber. The front hood, fenders and bumper form a single piece in the manner of the Sesto Elemento, and NACA ducts in the rear flanks — taken from the Super Trofeo EVO race car — feed the engine. A roof snorkel, dorsal fin and manually adjustable rear wing complete it. Against the Performante, airflow improves 37 percent and downforce rises 53 percent, the highest figures in the class.

The chassis was reworked to use that: stiffer bushings, sharper throttle mapping, quicker shifts, revised steering calibration and Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires. Three ANIMA modes are specific to the car — STO for road use, Trofeo for the track, and Pioggia, which retunes ABS and traction control for wet weather.

The cabin is Alcantara and exposed carbon, with full carbon racing seats, carbon door panels, carbon floor mats and four-point harnesses.
