The roof costs 49 kg. That is the whole weight penalty for the Spider over the 765LT coupe, and what it buys is a carbon fiber retractable hardtop that folds away electrically in 11 seconds.

The figure stays that low because the carbon structure is the coupe's and needed no reinforcement to lose its roof. The rest was found elsewhere: a titanium quad exhaust in place of steel, Formula 1-grade gearbox materials, thinner glass. The car comes out 80 kg under a 720S Spider, at 589 horsepower per ton.

The engine is the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with aluminum pistons and a revised fuel pump, 765 horsepower and 800 Nm, through a seven-speed dual-clutch that shifts 15 percent faster than the 720S and is the quickest gearbox in any Super Series car. 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds, 200 km/h takes 7.2 seconds, and top speed is limited to 330 km/h.

The carbon aerodynamic package is the coupe's, unchanged: a deeper front bumper, reworked side skirts, a larger rear diffuser and an extended active wing that tilts up as an airbrake, together worth 25 percent more downforce than a 720S Spider, with the longer rear deck also drawing heat out of the engine bay. Ten-spoke forged wheels on titanium bolts carry Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, over carbon-ceramic brakes using calipers from the Senna.

Inside is Alcantara and exposed carbon weave. Production was capped at 765 Spiders, and this one is in Serpentine Green, the only car in the color in Thailand. It is at the Target Car Center – Imported Cars showroom.
