Porsche's third-generation Panamera arrived without moving to a full electric platform. The plug-in hybrid system was rebuilt instead, and the silhouette was sharpened rather than redrawn.

Outside, the changes are in the details: a wider central air intake, new Matrix LED headlights, air outlets behind the front wheels and frameless rear glass. The sloping roofline and the rear spoiler that deploys at speed both carry over. At the back, a full-width light strip and a reshaped bumper give the car a visual link to the 911 ST. The cabin is where the generation change shows most. Porsche moved the Panamera to the Driver Experience layout first seen on the Taycan: a 12.6-inch curved instrument display with no hood over it, the Sport Chrono analog clock on the dash, and a small toggle gear selector moved up to the dashboard to free up the console, which now carries electronic bladeless vents and ambient lighting.

The powertrain pairs a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor built into the housing of the eight-speed PDK. Combined output is 470 horsepower and 650 Nm: 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, 280 km/h flat out. The motor on its own makes 190 horsepower and 450 Nm, and the 25.9 kWh battery covers up to 96 km on electricity alone at speeds up to 140 km/h — enough for city driving without starting the engine.

The option worth knowing about on this car is Porsche Active Ride. Instead of conventional air suspension, it uses single-chamber air springs with active dampers driven by hydraulic pumps, adjusting up to thirteen times a second to hold the body level under acceleration, braking and cornering. It also lifts the car 5.5 cm when a door opens, making getting in and out closer to an SUV than a sports sedan. Porsche test driver Lars Kern has described the result as a touring sedan that handles like a sports car.

This one is specified in Slate Grey Neo over a Black and Chalk Beige two-tone leather interior, with 20-inch Panamera Turbo wheels, 14-way power front seats, 8-way power rear seats and four-zone climate control. It has arrived at the Target Car Center showroom.
