Lamborghini Huracan STO

The Lamborghini Huracan STO (Super Trofeo Omologata) is a supercar designed to be race-ready from birth, yet fully road-legal. It represents one of the most extreme performance machines in the world, featuring a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine producing 640 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, sent exclusively to the rear wheels via a 7-speed Lamborghini Doppia Frizione (LDF) dual-clutch transmission.

Although the Huracan STO’s torque is slightly lower at 565 Nm at 6,500 rpm compared to the Huracan Evo’s 600 Nm, the car compensates with a remarkable power-to-weight ratio of 2.09 kg per horsepower. It’s also 43 kg lighter than the Huracan Performante, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 9 seconds, with a top speed of 310 km/h.

Inspired by Lamborghini’s Squadra Corse racing division, the STO’s aerodynamics are optimized from front to rear. The front hood integrates seamlessly with the fenders and bumper, drawing influence from the Sesto Elemento, while a new front diffuser increases downforce and a rear diffuser maximizes aerodynamic efficiency. The rear wheel arches feature NACA air intakes derived from the Super Trofeo EVO race car to feed the engine, complemented by a rear engine cover with integrated air channels, a dorsal fin, and an adjustable rear wing with three settings for different driving modes. The structure uses 75% carbon fiber, enhancing rigidity while reducing weight.

The Huracan STO delivers the highest downforce in its class for a rear-wheel-drive supercar, with 37% improved airflow and 53% more downforce compared to the Performante, while weighing only 1,339 kg. Additional performance upgrades include Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires, stiffer suspension, sharper throttle response, faster gear shifts, more precise steering, and a more aggressive engine sound at high RPMs.

The STO features three ANIMA driving modes: STO for everyday road use, Trofeo for track-focused performance, and Pioggia for wet conditions, which adjusts torque distribution and ABS for optimal control on slippery surfaces.
