McLaren 765LT
The McLaren 765LT is the pinnacle of lightweight supercar engineering, capable of accelerating from 0–200 km/h in just 7 seconds, earning it comparisons to hypercars. Developed as the next evolution of the 720S, the 765LT focuses on reduced weight, enhanced power, and extreme aerodynamics, continuing McLaren’s Longtail lineage from the 675LT.
Its aerodynamic package is comprehensive, featuring a striking front bumper with side fins, revised side skirts, a massive rear diffuser, and an extended rear wing. The rear design is functional as well as dramatic, with improved engine cooling, air extraction channels, and an Airbrake system that increases rear downforce by 25%. Lightweight alloy wheels with titanium wheel nuts, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R tires, complement carbon-ceramic brakes with calipers borrowed from the Senna. The suspension has been tuned specifically for track performance.
A standout feature is the titanium quad exhaust system, 40% lighter than steel, producing a thrilling soundtrack that matches the car’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which generates 765 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The engine includes aluminum pistons, triple-layer gaskets from the Senna, and an upgraded fuel pump from the 720S. Power is delivered through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, tuned for 15% faster shifts than the 720S, making it the fastest-shifting car in the McLaren Super Series.
Weight reduction plays a key role in the 765LT’s performance. At 1,229 kg dry, it is lighter than any previous Longtail and 80 kg lighter than the 720S, giving it a power-to-weight ratio of 622 hp per ton. This translates to blistering performance: 0–100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, 0–200 km/h in 7 seconds, 0–300 km/h in 18 seconds, and a quarter-mile in under 10 seconds, with a top speed of 330 km/h.
Inside, the cabin is stripped yet purposeful, adorned with Alcantara and carbon-fiber, emphasizing its race-inspired nature. The black interior of this particular example amplifies its aggressive, track-ready persona.
The McLaren 765LT was limited to 765 units and has since concluded production, making it a highly sought-after collector’s supercar that perfectly balances lightweight agility, raw power, and track-focused precision.
