Audi TT RS

The Audi TT RS MK2 stands as a legend in the world of performance cars, defined by its unmistakable 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine and an iconic silhouette that remains unmatched.

With Audi officially ending production of the current-generation TT (MK3), the TT nameplate has become one of the most sought-after models among enthusiasts. Its distinctive design, powerful engine, and exceptional driving dynamics have earned it a special place in automotive history — and the car you see here is none other than the TT RS MK2, a true icon of its era.

First unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the TT RS came equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine producing 340 horsepower at 5,400–6,700 rpm and 450 Nm of torque from 1,600–5,300 rpm. This potent setup allows the car to accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, showcasing the raw capability of Audi’s RS engineering.

The TT RS was designed as a high-performance 2+2 sports car, with a body that perfectly balanced athleticism and elegance. Its fluid body lines, large front grille with side air intakes, fixed rear spoiler, oval exhaust tips, and gracefully sloping roofline gave it a distinctive and timeless character — so much so that it once outsold the Porsche Cayman in several markets.

Built on an Audi Space Frame (ASF) chassis, the TT RS offered exceptional rigidity while keeping weight low. The structure consisted of 69% aluminum and 31% high-strength steel, optimizing weight distribution and handling precision.

The suspension setup was purpose-built for sportiness, sitting 10 mm lower than the standard TT. It featured stiffer springs and dampers, while the steering system was recalibrated for sharper, more responsive feedback — delivering an engaging and confident driving experience.

Inside the cabin, the TT RS continued its motorsport-inspired philosophy with a flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel, deeply bolstered sport seats embroidered with the TT RS logo, and a special gauge cluster that included a coolant temperature display. One standout detail was the removal of the central air vent, replaced instead by a turbo boost gauge, reinforcing the car’s performance-first identity.

The Audi TT RS MK2 remains a remarkable fusion of design, engineering, and heritage — a compact sports car that captures the thrill of driving in its purest form.
