Porsche 718 GT4 RS

The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS is the ultimate track-focused mid-engine sports car in the 718 lineup and is poised to be one of the last naturally aspirated Porsche road cars. Boasting 500 hp from a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine, it delivers 450 Nm of torque and a redline of 9,000 rpm, putting it just shy of the 911 GT3’s 510 hp. Compared to the standard 718 Cayman GT4, the RS sees a significant increase in power over the 420 hp output.

Performance is sent to the rear wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, allowing the car to sprint from 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, matching the 911 GT3 and shaving 0.5 seconds off the GT4’s time. Top speed rises to 315 km/h, while handling is honed for track performance. The suspension, springs, and anti-roll bars have all been upgraded, and the ride height is lowered by 30 mm compared to the standard Cayman.

Visually, the GT4 RS is immediately recognizable with its large rear wing inspired by the 911 RSR and 911 GT3, unique RS-specific air intakes behind the side windows, and redesigned side air intakes for improved engine cooling. The front features a prominent diffuser with integrated side fins, NACA-style hood vents, front wheel arch vents, underbody diffuser, and rear diffuser, collectively increasing downforce by 25% over the Cayman GT4 for sharper cornering on the track.

Weight-saving measures are a key part of the RS philosophy. At 1,464 kg, it is 22 kg lighter than the PDK-equipped Cayman GT4, resulting in a power-to-weight ratio of 2.92 kg/hp. Reductions come from CFRP front wheel arches and hood, lightweight rearview mirrors, and interior door panels featuring fabric pull handles and netted storage.
